What a Joyful Sign!

A couple of months ago after I started my blog I kept begging my husband for a pallet.  Every time I would see one at a construction site I would say..."ooohhhhhh".  About 2 weeks later, he said he brought home a surprise for me and wouldn't you know it... it was a pallet.  How romantic is he?  I don't need flowers but a husband bringing home a pallet for his crafty wife?  Oh yes please!

But of course life came and got crazy and the poor pallet sat in the garage for months.  He kept teasing me he was going to throw it out because I hadn't used it..  I kept re-assuring him that I swear I was going to... I just needed the right project!

So that day is finally here, I won't bore you with the details of my hubby taking the pallet apart for me.  Oh believe me he was thrilled with that project.  (insert sarcasm here)

This week's theme is Holiday Signs.  What a great time to finally use my pallet!

By the way Christmas is only 41 days away.  All together now.....YIKES!!

So after he took it apart I had him nail these boards together.  Just to a stud in the back.  And by stud I don't mean my husband I mean a wood stud :)

I painted it white...

I picked up these chipboard letters at Hobby Lobby and spray painted them red.

I wanted to add a little flair to the letters so I hot glued these red jingle bells on to the letters.  It's actually a pretty noisy sign.

Then I needed to remove the excess hot glue, I hate that part.

The top of the sign needed a little something, so I added these little tutu bows along with some beaded string to the top.

Everything was pretty much hot glued on.  I am super excited to put it outside with our Christmas decorations this year.  It's a little massive in size but will do just the trick.

En-JOY!  Get it :)

I just got my first pallet last week and have yet to rip it apart. I don't know if I going to be able to convince my hubs to do it for me. We'll see... Love the way your sign turned out. So cute!

Love it Mandy! We have collected a few pallets too - my husband says they are really hard to take apart, but he does it anyhow! I have a Christmas pallet sign on the way - and love the JOY - have those same letters. Love how you out it all together!

Thank you Krista- it definitely was a chore and it involved a lot of boards splitting. I thought it would be much easier to do. I think he would be happy if he didn't have to do that for a while ;)

Thank you Alexis! You might have to bribe him with a beer. It wasn't easy. I had to keep telling him Thank you, I felt so bad- LOL
