Monday morning this week was my get back into the swing of things. A new schedule, back to school for the kiddos. You know the drill. We had company this past weekend and as lovely as it is to have them in town you kind of lose time on doing laundry and cleaning and that whole stupid chore list. But I also hadn’t ran in 3 days because of course when you have company in town not only are you doing more and may not have the time, but you also eat like crap.
So Monday morning came and I took the kids to school. Decided to hit the road and start running. I am realizing I only have a few more weeks left of nice weather to run outside. Half way through my run I was feeling it. You know… the burning of all those weekend calories, my lungs were sucking up that lovely air…. and then my phone rang. What a way to break your concentration. I didn’t answer it at first until I realized someone had left me a message. I slowed to a walking pace to listen to the message.
“Hi Mandy, this is Rosie from Brewers’ Air Conditioning. I have a technician at your home for his scheduled apt and you aren’t there. Please call me when you can to see if we can reschedule.”
My heart sank, I was still about a mile away and my only transportation for the legs on my body. So I called her in a panic, huffing and puffing as I ran back. “I am right down the road, please tell him to stay there, I will be there in just a minute.” My little legs had never ran so fast. I made it all the way to the driveway and saw the tech sitting in the van. He got out and I apologized for making him wait. Of course it was more of a catching my breath type speaking.
So my lesson for the week is I still hate Monday mornings and 2, let’s make sure the next time you make an apt, do not go and run just before. I probably should have called him to have him pick me up down the road 🙂
Let me show you how I made this sweet little paper carrot banner.
First I needed something for it to sit on. Home Depot and Lowes have these cute little picket fence woods. I painted them white and the hubby added a board behind to keep them all together for me.
Next fold over the square to make a triangle.
Open up the triangle and take the sides into the center fold. You will be making a kite form.
Next take the flap left over and bend it backwards.
Then I take a small piece of that fold and fold it the opposite way to get this below.
This way I am left with a little design on the top like this.
Next you will put out the paper on the original fold to make an open triangle. I clued the two open pieces together in the back and then punched holes in the front two sides. This way the ribbon will go through at the same angle. I hope that is making sense for you 🙂
The ribbon gets sewn through and it’s ready. I just added the green confetti paper to the top and that was it.
