Who says Gold is just for the holidays? I am bringing it back to Spring and I excited about it! Who says Spring can’t be glam?
So this month’s theme is May Flowers and as I was looking around the house for some inspiration I came across a can of gold spray paint I had never used. Luckily I also had some mason jars lying around the house. The only thing left to buy was the glitter.
I spray painted the glasses which was really easy. You just need to remember to stay a bit away when spraying, otherwise it will get runny or goopy or bubble up. I have tried to stain the mason jars once before and it didn’t go as smoothly.
After they dry, paint an area of Mod Podge around the bottom of the glass. I sprinkled some gold glitter on the bottom. Remembering to catch it with some newspaper or a paper plate so you can always reuse the stuff that falls. I picked a fine glitter so it went on a little more smooth.
Once that dried I painted a layer of Mod Podge on top of the glitter to hold it on and wouldn’t flake off.
This entire process was super easy but glitter was everywhere! I made dinner a short time afterwards and we may or may not have had glitter in our chicken. Oops.
Once I saw how beautiful they were I kind of was looking around for other fabulous things to spray paint gold. My husband was rolling his eyes but seriously it was just a nice little addition to our home… or at least to my crafty girly space.
Speaking of amazing projects! Take a look at what my co-hosts did this month for their Flower Projects!
