Michael, Mandy, Reagan and Hunter, Tito, Janet, Jermaine….ugh oops I got carried away. There are only the four of us.
It started out with a sweet little first date with Michael on a Saturday night many many years ago. 11 years ago actually. August 3, 2001. Ahhhhh, sweet memories of meeting the man of my dreams, enjoying a great conversation and then a then a sentence of “I am actually going through a divorce”. Dang it, I was so close to the fairytale and he had to mutter those words. All things ended well for us though, at least for the last 11 years. I couldn’t have asked for a better husband and father of my children. Does he drive me crazy? Yes! Do I drive him crazy? Um yes! Probably even more so but I can’t imagine driving anyone else crazy for the rest of my life like I do with Michael.
He actually is also one of those husbands that gets better looking the older he gets. I don’t know how I feel about that. In one way it’s totally awesome to have some eye candy for a husband, on the other hand, here I go aging like the crypt keeper. Why can’t I age the same way? Ugh!! I’m still looking for that magic potion to apply to my wrinkles on both sets of cheeks.
Reagan, my sweet little shy one. She’s 8, going on 16-yikes! She looks just like me even the big brown eyes. She is a lover and a cuddler. She is my shopping buddy and it turning into quite the girly-girl. Packed with plenty of sequence, glitter, fur and zebra print to make you throw up. But it’s her and she can rock it! She loves to read, loves to play and loves riding roller coasters.
Hunter is our biggest personality. Holy schmoly he has kept us on our toes since about 14 months old. He was such a happy baby, hardly cried. He was very calm and then one day he woke up and just started being a boy. I tell you what for those of you who have never experience a boy before, what an awakening! They are so mobile and get into everything. They jump off high places, and run out in the street in front of cars and skin their knees and eat dirt and THEY LIKE IT!!! What?!!! He really says and does the funniest things, the big family goof ball. But he can still cuddle and hug and sign language I Heart You to me and it just melts my heart!
And then there is little ole’ me. You know the type A-Crazy organized mom that thinks she has to do everything, clean everything, volunteer for everything and organize everything! Boy does that take a toll on your body quickly. One of my New Year’s
resolutions revelations this year is too settle down and take care of myself more. Although that sounds like a fabulous plan it’s a little hard because I actually enjoy being crazy organized and enjoy doing too many things. It’s a work in progress for myself for sure.
I love to blog, I love to shop, and craft and hang out with my family. I love love love going to the movies and HAVE to be there before the movie starts to watch the trailers. (Sometimes I am more excited to see the trailers than the actual movie). I am by far addicted to Iced-Tea, it’s really a problem. I am a faithful believer of God. I hate flying, I hate heights (this is a fairly recent fear) and in my “spare time” in the rat race I call life, I also own my own photography company called Mandy Hank Photography. Catchy name isn’t? I thought of it all by myself!
Oh I should probably tell you we are pretty big Yankee fans! Like really big! When your husband is from New York, it goes with the territory… I think it was in our marriage vows. Please don’t judge!
So hang out, snoop around, our life is open to you. I promise to be as real and as open and candid as I can be. It may not always be pretty inside but we are always
thankful , no Hankful in this house!
