When we get older, our eyes may get worse over time. Regular check-ups are essential and if you do require eyeglasses andf are short on time, then you can try a 1 hour eyeglasses service.

Getting your eyes tested is really important because your eyes are really important to you in your life because they help you to navigate your way around the world. Quite a lot of people will need glasses at some point in their lives because of different reasons, so, here are some reasons that you may need glasses.

Having blurred vision is not helpful when walking around or socialising with friends because you may bump into things or if it is severe, not even recognise a friend. And when you read if you have to hold your book close to your face you may be developing short-sightedness.

If you are having trouble with adjusting from light to dark and dark to light then it could be that the muscles in your iris are weakening. This could be due to age, as quite a lot of visual problems are. If you are finding it difficult to read thing on your computer, then this could be a sign of farsightedness, some opticians recommend the 20-20-20 rule where you look 20 feet away for 20 seconds every 20 minutes and if your problem is still there you should schedule an exam at the opticians.

If you are experiencing double vision, then it could lead to serious problems and seeing double vison could indicate that there is a problem with your cornea or eye muscles and could also be a symptom of cataracts. Do your blinds that cover your windows suddenly look like they are under water or if straight lines appear distorted and colours look faded it may be a sign of macular degeneration and could lead to vision loss.

If you are feeling pressure behind your eye, then you could be developing glaucoma but there is no need to be scared because it is highly treatable but if you leave it too long then the pressure could damage the optic nerve that transmits images to your brain. Not everyone with eye pressure has glaucoma but you should still have it checked out.

Maybe it is your child that needs glasses and they may be scared that they have a problem with their eyes, so here are some tips on how to help them not be afraid of having glasses. You should stay positive even though the knowledge of needing glasses could upset your child. Keeping the negativity away can help and also telling them that it will help them can reassure them. Try to point out people that have glasses like a classmate or a family member and tell your child that if those people are fine with glasses on then so can they. Letting your child choose some glasses can help them want to wear them because the glasses are ones that they like.
